Marcello Mercado produces an artist’s book where the seven versions of Vincent van Gogh’s sunflower paintings are subjected to a process of encoding and erasure, articulated through the invention of a self-conceived language and alphabet. The project offers a critical reflection on the limits of representation, translation, and symbolic destruction within an experimental artistic practice.
